One thing I wanted to address again from my discussion this morning about fighting when outnumbered, too many people have only done this in video games, where the rules are totally different to real world fighting, because the incentives are different.
Video game enemies are there to oppose you. They lack any sense of self preservation because that would be contrary to their purpose of being a challenge for you to overcome.

Real people don't act that way, real people want to live and avoid being hurt, whenever possible!
This is very important in a fight when you are outnumbered. To "win" most fights, all you need to do is convince your opponents that fighting will get them hurt.

That will remove their desire to fight and along with it, their threat to you.
There are plenty of real world fights where one guy is being mobbed by multiple inferior opponents. In a video game, the mob's gonna win. In the real world, a superior fighter can psych out a large mob, by making them afraid.
My own practical experience is that you focus on whoever's easiest for you to attack and just beat the absolute shit out of them.

The others aren't going to come to his aid, because they know they'll probably get hurt if they do that and they DON'T want that!
Mob fighting is a strategy for people with a very risk averse nature. Make that work for you. They are very easy people to intimidate. Getting aggressive will psych them out way easier than people who will challenge you to a duel.
Aggression is the key. Go absolutely balls out, zero hesitation, act crazy.

Your intent is to frighten and intimidate your opponents into submission, rather than most effectively injure them to the point of being unable to offer physical resistance.
To this end, making attempts to strike that you know probably aren't going to land is still worthwhile, just to keep up an intimidating and overwhelming tempo.

There's nothing rational about a fight. You fight a man's emotions far more than his body, move accordingly.
