There's so much noise in public debate about #COVID19Vic, it's hard (& distressing) for many to know what is essential, & what's not. If what I say seems obvious, accept my apologies. The top priority remains avoiding the real risk of a 3rd wave with many deaths #springst #auspol
The hardship endured by Victorians is such that many are reaching a tipping point. That pain & sacrifice must be acknowledged & respected by the nation. A "Covidsafe" easing is easy to say, but difficult to deliver. Beware throwaway lines from opportunists. It must be gradual.
I believe we have the public health tools in Vic to get to a safer, lesser level of restriction. We didn't have them a few months ago. But the most important tool is public knowledge & adherence, because we know a single stuff up can lead to disaster. That's why education matters
Last one for the day. Technology helps - in testing & healthcare. But it's no substitute for the decision to seek the test early, or those basics like masks, distance & handwashing. If despair looms, remember it could be worse - we could be in the USA. Hang in there everyone.
