on the note of other womxn talking about reproductive health, allow me to continue the conversation, as other uterus havers are yet again in danger of losing our autonomy
tl;dr: i use birth control for hormonal reasons. i was cursed with murder periods from 12yoa and used it to manage my debilitating symptoms of PMDD and menorrhagia. what they tell you to go to the er for now was *my normal period* for 12 years. it literally made me anemic.
i recently, two months ago, had surgery on my uterus to help this and my chronic migraines. my: septum inside my uterus and fallopian tubes were removed entirely, and an IUD was placed.
my recovery from surgery took longer than others, as i have hypermobile EDS. my body heals slower than those who have functional collagen. the thing that hasn’t stopped however? my bleeding.
i have been on my period for two straight months.
yes.
every. day. for. two. months. now.

and yes, it is terrible. in that i am bleeding—i’m not in pain!
we have tried putting me back on my old birth control medication and just straight estrogen to stop my bleeding.

my bleeding has not stopped.

now we are trying straight progesterone.
in a continued America under trump, i likely would not have been able to get this surgery—which has improved my quality of life—nor would i be able to get the continued gyno care i am getting due to my circumstances.
my periods were like someone jamming a spoon up into my uterus and scraping out my guts, and pulling out all of my organs. i felt my cramps in my legs, back and abdomen. i would vomit from the pain. it literally felt like death for weeks at a time, every month ✨for 12 years✨
birth control is only controversial because of people who believe they are entitled to ownership of others bodies. it’s literally, usually, hormones. there’s nothing controversial about hormones. everyone has hormones, in some form.
it is antiquated and cruel to limit anyone’s access to medical care, no matter what organs they do or do not have.

for the safety of literally anyone who has a uterus or receives hormonal medical care, please, god, please vote for biden.
i am a survivor, and Harris is a cop, i hate it too. but we have to fight for every single person, especially womxn of color, who needs access to care like i have for a very debilitating condition.
