I feel like doing a thread of Ted Leo covers, and I Don't need your approval!
Ted Leo's one of my favorite singer/songwriters. I almost feel bad for how much I fucking LOVE him doing covers.
Luckily, he seems happy as hell doing them.
For @KevinMarcou so I can get him in the gang
I was AT this show and virtually next to whomever was filming this. And Ted and I both had the flu, which I b'lieve we both picked up in DC about a week before. it was a crusher.
Ted's one of the reasons I'm super sad about live shows right now. This is actually on one of his albums, but why not enjoy the vitality of live?
I think one reason I like him so much is we have similar taste in music. here he's covering the Jam. I think he doubles the speed on his covers, though.
Covering Cock Sparrer, whom I admit I didn't know about until after I heard this cover.
Covering the Waco Brothers, and ... i prefer this version.
Absolutely beautiful Thin Lizzy cover...
Not going to put his cover of Dirty Old Town in here because you know what? I hate every one's version of that song.

INSTEAD have the cover that started me down this path 13+ yrs ago.

I'm a bad singer on a good day but that falsetto just rips my throat out. Anyway.
A genuinely tremendous cover of Liz Phair's Fuck and Run, because all cool people love that album.

A Bowie cover for a kid's album! He even does a passable copy of Bowie's hmm, low-breath sound.
A Chumbawamba cover called Rappaport's Testament which was, again, how I discovered a song.
Two months ago I woke up to a text from my friend Ash, who knew I'd be super excited to see this: Rise Against + Converge + Ted Leo + Gouge Away cover The Replacement’s “Kids Don’t Follow”
Cuz I've essentially been begging Ted to cover The Mats over twitter for years. This was not the song I woulda chosen, but choosy beggars eh?
Not until I saw that, did I know about ... this. Wherein Ted forgets EVERY WORD to my FAVORITE mats song.

You don't know what you're asking for til it pops up on Youtube. Probably got what I deserved there, but I'm still glad it happened.
And while there are more Ted Leo covers out there, that concludes tonight's programming.
Goodnight, Twitter! We love you! Goodnight. #TedLeo
