Classifying all liberals as Marxists and Antifa is like classifying all conservatists as white supremacists and KKK sympathisers.

The majority of people are reasonable, separated by traditional conservative and progressive views. Both advance society through reasonable debate.

The media and politicians have gamed the agenda of labelling the opposition as extreme, whereas the extreme on each side are minority fringe groups.

Social media amplifies this extreme behaviour as reasoned nuance is less interesting for the algos and 280 character mental space.

Holding certain opinions often leads to quick labelling:
- Typical liberal/conservative etc...

Centrism isn’t a lack of conviction or fence sitting but perhaps holding conservative views on some issues and liberal views on others.

In the current climate, a centrist is generally discarded because nuance has been lost to partisan slogans headline policies.
