No politician is owed your loyalty, period - you should ALWAYS be as willing to criticize as you are to praise.
This is part of what really bothers me about the Democratic Party now: people like Kamala are so comfortable just saying "please vote" rather than "vote for us" because they're assuming a win by default, just because Trump = bad. They dont feel they have to earn anyone's support.
I mean hell, just look at who they're running. They could've chosen Bernie and received nearly an entire generation of enthusiastic support, or Tulsi, who has real promise and dedication to rallying the nation behind her. But of course, they didn't - instead, we got Biden/Harris.
Biden - former Vice President of a widely unsatisfactory, even disliked administration (even among those who voted for it) who is clearly deteriorating,
and Harris - one of the most wildly unlikeable candidates in the Democratic primaries with a horrifically corrupt record.
Even on the debate floor, at least 2/3 of the questions Biden actually answered were just him going "well trump did this thing!!" rather than giving his own positions. They're not making themselves any kind of better option - their entire position is just "we're not Trump."
They don't care enough about what you, the voter, believe in to hear you and fight for you. They only care that you hate Trump enough to put them in power, regardless of how slimy they are about it. And they're kicking up their feet while it plays out exactly how they want it to.
