Today, Bollywood is worried about its image.
But Bollywood cares only if you are in the limelight. Once the arc-lights stop shining, Bollywood takes its eyes off.
That's when darkness sets in.
Many die in isolation or penury.
Nobody wants you to know such stories.

Thread begins.
Manmohan Desai, one of the biggest producers in Bollywood.
He made films like Coolie, Dharam-Veer, Amar Akbar Anthony etc.
Desai mysteriously died when he fell down from his own balcony.
There are several rumours about his death and till date, nobody knows for sure what happened.
Divya Bharti, a talent powerhouse with unmatched beauty.
Divya fell down from her apartment and that too when some people were present in the same apartment. The accident happened in the evening and she died of a head injury.
But do we exactly know what happened?
She was just 19.
Kuljeet Randhawa. Powerful television personality.
She was planning to make a film.

Though there were several leads about abetment and how she felt isolated at work, but those leads were never investigated.
Nafisa Joseph. Miss India and most popular VJ during her lifetime. Her shows on a music channel were a hot craze among teenagers. She was found dead and it was declared as a suicide.
The confirmed leads about her industrialist boyfriend breaking her trust were never investigated.
Viveka Babajee. Supermodel. Ready for her Bollywood debut.
Viveka was found dead in her Mumbai apartment.
Beside her body there was a note, a page from her diary, which said, "(Man's name), you killed me!"
There were confirmed leads about abetment.

Pratyusha Banerjee. Became a household name after doing the title role in the hit TV serial, Balika Badhu. Was in talks for her Bollywood debut.
Found dead in her Mumbai apartment. Her parents alleged murder and pressed charges against her boyfriend.
Case is now closed as suicide
I can go on and on but let me pause here.
In all the cases, there was a huge uproar in the media and the public.
I was a member of the media when some of the deaths happened. I personally followed up on a few cases too.
After a point, Bollywood was never interested in these cases
After a point, people who were writing blogs about it (including me) were called Conspiracy Theorists. The cases were closed as suicide.
Forget about remembering them, actors agreed to give interviews on condition that we will not talk about these deaths, not even off the record.
Most of these cases had big names involved.
I have seen the desperation in the eyes of the family members when they used to talk to media.
They were clutching to straws of hope that the victim would get justice.
In the end, it was what it was.
A suicide with nobody to blame.
Will the latest name in the list be of Sushant Singh Rajput?
I am too clutching at straws of hope that in at least ONE case, there would be justice.
A murder will be called murder, not a conspiracy theory.
At least once, a victim won't be blamed for his own death.

Thread closed.
I haven't mentioned some cases. Apologies.
Points to note about the thread:
1. All cases are closed (as suicide or unnatural death).
2. All cases are in Mumbai.
3. All cases relate to Bollywood.
4. No clear conclusions about the deaths.
5. None of the cases are sub-judice.
