CA friends: Here's my case for #YesOnProp22. Last year, I founded @cafwu. My colleagues spent the last year fighting for CA journalists+writers to fix AB5 and remain self-employed. We were successful in creating a legislative bandaid. But there's more work to be done.
. @CAFWU and I personally stand with anyone who wants to remain an independent contractor.

A few facts to consider:

*Overwhelming (4-to-1), rideshare drivers want to remain independent contractors. They don't want to or need to be full-time employees.
Self-employment is a more attractive and realistic option for women, parents, disabled, LGBTQ, POC, people who want to work across companies/from home/however and whenever they like, and lots of people who would like an insurance policy against losing all of their income at once.
Don't like that @Uber + @lyft are attempting to legislate with $? There's more to it than greedy Silicon Valley cos vs. the little guy. Those on the other side of this issue are flexing the power of their pocketbooks + have financial stake in No on 22 too. https://reason.com/2020/07/05/i-dont-want-to-be-anybodys-employee/
