Comparing max salaries across the WNBA and NBA, players make upwards of 80x as much in the NBA, AFTER taking into consideration season lengths.
You read that right - NBA players and their work on the court are valued EIGHTY TIMES as much as WNBA players& #39; equal amount of work.

82 NBA Games vs 36 WNBA Games (Planned Increase before COVID)
Highest Paid 2020 NBA Salary - Steph Curry = over $40m
Highest Paid 2020 WNBA Salary - $215,000 (paid to Bonner, Della Donne, Meesseman, Cambage, Griner, Diggins-Smith, and Bird)

Directly comparing 17th year Champs in Lebron James and Sue Bird:
James - over $37m
Bird - $215,000
James& #39; on-court work valued more than 75x that of Bird.
James - over $37m
Bird - $215,000
James& #39; on-court work valued more than 75x that of Bird.
If each player would to have played every game of their respective regular seasons, Lebron would be paid over $450,000 per, with Bird at under $6,000 per.
As in, two GAMES for Lebron are the financial equivalent of two SEASONS of Bird& #39;s salary.
PLUS an extra ~$20k to boot.

Sometimes it& #39;s important to recognize how ridiculous all of this is in actual numbers. You can incorporate skewed arguments about viewership, profit, and investment, but there& #39;s no way in hell NBA players should be getting paid 80x that of WNBA players. It& #39;s insane.
Thanks to @kpeltonWBB and @Big_Paper_Daddy for the frustrating inspiration to crunch some numbers
