"[Amy Coney Barrett] served from 2015 to 2017 on the board of Trinity School ... In 2014, the board of trustees of Trinity Schools Incorporated, which also runs two other schools, adopted a policy not to accept children of unmarried couples." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/11/us/politics/amy-coney-barrett-life-career-family.html
Consider how egregious and disgusting that is. It's bad enough to refuse to employ single parents, but to punish their children, too?
And, of course, this was also targeted at the children of same-sex parents. Just vile all around.
My family is (or was) Catholic on my mother's side. Both her parents were devout. When her father divorced her mother & refused to pay child support, leaving my grandma a single mother of five in the 1950s, the kids got kicked out of Catholic school for having divorced parents.
Being divorced in the '50s was ostracizing enough. But having their religious community shun them was an added unnecessary trauma. (The Church, btw, allowed my very devout grandfather to annul a decade-long marriage that produced five kids so he could remarry as a Catholic).
