1/ THREAD: Note this picture of #AmyConeyBarrett — in this moment, she's displaying the emotions of both:

• Disgust and
• Anger

But these emotions are masqueraded with a Feigned-Smile. Yet, we could NOT see this if she had a mask on here.

2/ No testimony should be conducted with any witnesses wearing masks. Such practice takes away from the whole idea of testimony. A profound amount of her (or anyone's) behavior is hidden when wearing a COVID mask. In the midst of a pandemic, this, of course, set up a dilemma.

3/ Why is @SenMikeLee not wearing a mask? He recently tested positive for #COVID19. While he may be recovered & no longer able to transmit the virus, why is his last positive (or negative) test not published? Why not this same logical standard for Trump?

4/ In our system of jurisprudence, those making judgments (jurors, senators, etc.) must be able to see the witness. This is fundamental, of utmost importance, and cannot be ignored or dismissed as nuance.

5/ If #AmyConeyBarrett's testimony is to proceed, it must be conducted in a large, well-ventilated, auditorium-sized room so that masks can be removed — or, alternatively, accomplished remotely with at least ...

6/ ... two simultaneous cameras:

A. Wide-angle lens showing the entire person (with no table, etc., obscuring the view)

B. Straight-on (zero degrees) close-up of the judge's face

(C. In addition, 3/4 views from each of her right and her left sides would be profoundly valuable)

7/ Conducting #AmyConeyBarrett's confirmation hearing w/ her wearing a mask is an outright farse. Yes, everyone must be protected from COVID — but there are ways for her to remove her mask & still protect everyone. FACT: W/ a mask on, she (any witness) is given free-rein to lie.
