adhd fucking sucks please stop pretending to have it or saying u wish u had it: a thread from someone with adhd
before we start, this is just my experience and i have inattentive type adhd, previously known as add, not combination or hyperactive type so keep that in mind
do you really wanna break down crying because you physically cannot focus on and do what you need to do? be extremely anxious bc ur not keeping up and cant focus on it to the point of having panic attacks?
do you really wanna spend most of a lesson/lecture dissociated and then come to and not have a clue what was going on or what you have to do?
tw suicide
do you really wanna experience rejection sensitive dysphoria? which is when the smallest negative criticism makes you spiral into an incredibly low state, to the point where it makes some of us suicidal?
do you really wanna have sensory issues? when the feeling of clothes on your skin makes you wanna tear all your skin off, when the most mundane noises make you wanna bash your head in and run away, when a slightly off texture makes you have a panic attack?
do you wanna be constantly shamed for not being able to focus, screamed at saying youre just not trying and youre lazy?
do you wanna go undiagnosed for your teenage years if youre afab, poor, academically excelling or a poc? left wondering what the fuck is wrong with you and why you cant just focus and be normal, hell, itd be easier if you werent here?
this went Off so i just wanna say:
- these things dont necessarily mean you have adhd
- adhd can be so many things other than these things
- not being able to get a professional diagnosis is valid and you are valid, its extremely difficult and inaccessible
before you self diagnose, PLEASE do more extensive research than this thread and make sure youre doing it for the right reasons (to better understand whats going on while you wait for a professional dx) :)
