Bear in mind that colonial officials arbitrarily drew a boundary through the middle of their territory, and then forcibly relocated the community of Listiguj to the Quebec side of the river to make way for a gravel mining operation.
People from Listiguj need to cross the river, as they have for thousands of years.
There have been zero cases in Listiguj. It presents a negligible risk to people in New Brunswick. And a gross infringement of their rights.
Almost every outbreak in the bubble has been linked to people travelling to the rest of Canada and not self isolating on return. Instead of tightening up those restrictions, the Government of New Brunswick is going to scapegoat a First Nation that has had zero cases.
