When Pat Summitt first started the Lady Vol program from scratch in the early 70s as Graduate Assistant basically, the program received petty monetary support from UT. The program could not afford practice uniforms so......

Pat went to a local sporting goods store to buy her team practice uniforms with her own money. The only orange jerseys she could find had baby blue borders on the trim and numbers Hence, the tradition of the Lady Vols incorporating subtle baby blue to honor the program's root

When The Univ. of Tennessee in 2015 began its new eight-year, $35M apparel deal with Nike in the unveiling Nike completely wiped out the Baby Blue.The only trace of blue on the new Nike uniforms is "within the Lady Vols’ logo on the side of the shorts.

The Lady Vol Program still uses the Lady Vol Baby Blue in its Logo and on T-shirts and their Practice Courts

@Nike give the Lady Vol back the Baby Blue accents.....it seems like a ton of ppl are trying to take away our history first the University of Tennessee AD wanting to get rid of the "Lady Vol" moniker and now Nike takin away the baby blue
