he’s credited with 5 songs in wayvs discography, he posts dance vids & practice pictures frequently, not to mention how he helped ten learn mandarin, enough to have ten literally call him teacher, he’s fluent in english, mandarin, cantonese, he’s learning korean and japanese, +

and he’s learning more languages literally just to be able to talk to fans (like he did during his first solo vlive... he literally spoke in every language he knew even stating he’s doing it to talk and communicate with us), he’s so talented, so smart, and so kind, +

yes hendery is funny and handsome, but he said himself that he wanted to be known not for his looks but for his artistry, and he’s worked so hard at rapping , singing, dancing and writing lyrics... but instead of appreciating him, a bunch of people only use him for jokes, only +

call him mean things, insult his intelligence, use his phobia as a joke(which has happened less and less which is good) because what...? because he makes funny faces? because of the way he reacts to these things?

i know i’m ranting but when hengnis say that we’re gatekeeping hendery it’s not just we’re being sensitive, it’s because people aren’t giving him the respect he deserves, not respecting his phobias, his lyricism, his skills, or his wishes to be known more as “funny and handsome”.
