Another day, another three-part slogan from our government. It's making me more angry than it should. Firstly, I really wonder if the people behind these governmental soundbites-over-substance are considering Rethinking, Reskilling and Rebooting, because maybe they should.

Secondly, it's so f***ing patronising and clearly coming from people who never had to live in sheer desperation to survive; the kind of people who rejected me from better-paying jobs in *their* safe world after the '08 crisis because I survived that crisis by running my biz (2/-)

...alongside working shifts as a barista and a cleaner. They looked down on me for that, because they felt corporate EAs should be donning suits and sitting pretty and not be picking up shifts making overpriced cups of coffee or cleaning bogs. So they stopped hiring me. (3/-)

And yet, here we are, with people preaching about sh!t they've never had to actually *live* because if they knew about it they wouldn't be preaching this 'Rethink, Reskill, Reboot' nonsense. It's SO offensive. I don't work in the arts but WTF do you think people who do... (4/-)

...have been doing these past 7 months?! I'll tell you what: they've been working alongside me crisscrossing London & beyond, cleaning hospitals, homes, kitchens, schools and so on, full well knowing that doing low-paid menial jobs is going to harm their career prospects... (5/-)

...in any line of work that is/was their 'usual' career, let alone any new type of career they may aspire to. IT'S CALLED BEING DESPERATE TO SURVIVE. There is no alternative, just RISK. The last time I took a low-paid job, my landlord was ready to rip up my tenancy. (6/-)
