Let’s get this right, the problem is NOT overconsumerism. Language matters. We need to call it what it is. Capitalism is the problem.

The idea that “Overconsumption is the problem” again focuses on you and I who are “over” consuming and blaming individuals for climate change. In other words, it is yours and my fault that we are in this shit.
First off, the reason we are even talking about “overconsumption” is because we operate in capitalism. In a system which is not here to meet human needs but to constantly oppress people and accumulate capital at all cost.
You are pissed off that households are wasting food? Is it an “overconsumption” issue again? What about capitalism destroying food by the million (tonnes) only to keep the price “stable” while people go hungry?
