I'm wondering at what point studios start to put their $200m films into turnaround and instead get as many $5m horror and comedy films made as quickly as possible.

The question is will this pandemic actually change the types of films being made?
Tenet budget $205m

War With Grandpa budget $24m
If the era of the tentpole blockbuster that makes $300m domestic is just over forever because even once recovered the very nature of how theaters operate has changed, then we're simply not going to see these giant ass movies anymore.

The product will change.
Wonder Woman, Black Window and No Time To Die will be the real test. If those films release at their current dates and only do $40m domestic, there's going to be a real crisis of confidence about the types of films studios are now willing to make.
Now Tenet did do $275m internationally, so considering its position that's not bad.

It's entirely possible this will just accelerate the studios abandoning the domestic market and making films solely for international audiences now.
