take the risk you’re gonna take. consider every possible impact, make your decision based on that. look at the local, state, and national numbers. travel as safely as possible. safe ppl get sick. reckless ppl get sick. you aren’t in total control. nobody is.
don’t be reckless. be as thoughtful as you can be. get your affairs in order regardless. for several reasons, we’re headed for a very intense and bad winter. who’s your medical proxy? do you have updated emergency contact info? who can care for you if you’re sick at home?
I’m not saying do *nothing*. I’m saying be sure you’re sure that the most likely outcomes are the ones you’re prepared to handle.
ALSO. staying totally put is *expensive.* so your safety is relative to how much you have to be out in the world.
some ppl really can’t handle the stillness. I don’t blame them. some ppl really are in a bad place because of isolation. I don’t begrudge anyone the break they take.
we’re not gonna act like the frolicking and putting on for social media is healing, beloved.
like ... a celebrity wedding? they probably have coin for the tests the rest of us couldn’t get unless we paid out of pocket.
which is part of the problem. we are not having the same gatherings. we don’t have the same concerns.
AND ppl are so afraid of death as an experience that they seem to forget that increasing their likelihood of death is probably not a good look? like, if you’re afraid of pain or death WHY ARE YOU OUT HERE UNMASKED?!?!!!
just some observations. and some unsolicited advice.
