me: writing a research paper on the impact of antisemitism in the salem witch trials

(hint; they wouldn’t have been possible without antisemitism)
whaaat they used the malleus malificarum which was written by Dominican inquisitors who wrote it based on a previous book on stamping out jews, even going as far as using the exact same style and structure? whaaaat
“Heinrich Kramer based his Malleus Maleficarum on the Malleus Judeorum (“Hammer of Jews”). Written by John of Frankfurt around 1420, the work lent not only its title but also its formatting and scholarly style to Kramer's book on the persecution of witches” - Yvonne Owens
“Kramer was directly involved in the trial of Jews at Turin in 1475, and must have been greatly influenced by the styles of both the institutional procedure and its handbook”

Yvonne Owens, The Saturnine History of Jews and Witches
if you're interested, start by reading this article!! it lays the ground for a lot of the things that made the witch trials in the US possible...

I should compile this all into a book bc seriously, the fact that this isn't common knowledge is a shame.
seriously though, read the blog post cause it truly lays the ground work for how witch trials have continued in the Americas......and it wouldn't have been possible without antisemitism, even though it is NEVER studied.
