Thread about why I think Aizawa Shouta is a bottom
(Also I might have compared him to All Might at some point, sorry)

First of all we have his beginning at UA. As a teenager Aizawa lacked confidence and was pretty much shy, hesitating about his abilities and stopping from doing things because he didn’t believe he could do it,
here Shirakumo through praise and support helped him get through and start believing in himself, he accomplished defeating the monster no hero had been able to take down, on his own.

However, the whole time he was doing it by thinking Shirakumo was supporting him.
Teen Aizawa always let himself be led to until Shirakumo died, which takes us to another point

After Shirakumo’s death Aizawa became pretty much independent, he took control of everything and went to the other extreme, from relying always in someone to relying only in himself, becoming more private about his thoughts in opposition of how he was as a teen
Now adult Aizawa is closed off and has created a tough exterior around himself that we see when he interacts with Yamada and Nemuri, with Mic after graduating there was some sort of tension, we see Aizawa working on his own thing and Mic watching Aizawa from afar,
With Nemuri we have these scenes, where he cuts her off but, Nemuri still ignores what he says and makes the desicion for him (again someone influences his life and takes control to take care of him)
Something we already know is that Aizawa after Shirakumo’s death took control over all of his choices being Nemuri I think, one of the exceptions. After becoming a teacher he is in full control of his students, deciding to endure the stress from having to expel them (symbolic),
And also the stress from having an (as All Might said in one of the novels) “unfavorable role fall on him” he accepts this, taking all of the responsibility besides how sometimes it takes a negative toll in him as we see him sleeping everywhere and not taking care of himself.

Aizawa not taking care of himself is a recurrent topic, first is after Shirakumo’s death where we don’t see him grieving, he instead is shown in panels training hard and exhaustively. Then we have USJ that, after being almost killed he still goes to teach his students,
Looking like a mummy, not resting for one minute and even helping Mic as a commentator for the UA sports festival.

This is adding to the same but basically he keeps taking responsibilities even when others say he might not be fitting for them,
Mic on a light novel made a remark like that one when Aizawa taking care of Eri still was a possibility. In my opinion and from my perspective Aizawa, like All Might takes the responsibility others don’t, I’m not sure if he totally likes it,
As All Might seems to do (he always wants to be useful) but we do see him always doing the hard work for everyone, making the hard choices for the rest, a self-sacrificial quality that is impulsed by the fact he couldn’t do anything to avoid Shirakumo’s death.
In conclusion, Aizawa needs to be taken care of and be helped to release all the stress he has by not having control over nothing, I think I already say it but the way I see it,)
every time he takes a responsibility is more so no else has to do it (this doesn’t apply with eri) rather than the need to hold power because he likes it or be a pillar, to be seen as a pillar and as someone everyone can rely on
Like is All Might’s case that from the start we see him always looking for control (as we see him explaining to Nana about his idea of a symbol) and finds happiness in taking care of others, of being useful.
This is the end and again, this is my opinion so everything could be wrong
and ofc that Aizawa can be a top or a switch, I mainly see him as a bottom because of this but that’s just me https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😂" title="Gesicht mit Freudentränen" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Freudentränen">
