Anatomy of political white supremacy in Mont. A Thread...
-“So when I hear (Natives say), 'We were here first.’ I say, ‘You’re very lucky we were here second, because we could be studying you like the dinosaurs.’”
~Elaine Willman, Citizens Equal Rights Alliance https://twitter.com/missoulian/status/1315463970438950912
The Mont. Human Rights Network called the CERA "...the most notorious organized anti-Indian group in the U.S., dedicated to terminating tribal governments, abrogating treaties and turning management of tribal resources over to the state government."
The year Elaine Williams said this in 2017, Jennifer Fielder spoke at a conference with Willman, then vehemently defended the CERA.

Fielder was endorsed by the @missoulian today.
Then a few years later you have Fielder unsurprisingly defending herself for holding up the #MMIW Hanna's Act despite it having 99-0 support in the Montana legislature with none of her arguments making sense.
In a previous #MMIW piece I couldn't outright say she's racist,' I really wanted to include her association with said anti-Native, white supremacist group but I was pressed for room in the article.
Today people thought I was mean for going after the Executive Editor (Florio) of this est. media promoting these people as a "positive" for Montana, but I'm militant when defending my homelands & other Natives when white supremacists try to take what little homelands we have.
This is about these people wanting erasure of our nations to finally rid America of the dark colonial shadow of their "Indian problem" they've long tried to sweep under the rug as they promote "Patriotic Education Commission" created by Trump.
A gist was you can disclaim writing endorsements of fascists all you want but you are Executive Editor of the newspaper promoting these people.

You're not an innocent bystander; cuz if you're a bystander in this Trump era you're not innocent.
So like that this Fielder woman this year was all about "AntiFa is coming to Podunk, Montana in vans!" & essentially giving proverbial ammo for white supremacists to stand with guns & intimidate BIPOC doing #BlackLivesMatter protests was not surprising.
Fileder wanted to make sure BIPOC people saw white men with guns so they wouldn't act too uppity and assert Black Lives Matter, too, under the guise of course of "protecting us from antifa."😒
It would upset the white power system The Missoulian is part of, after all. Field & her racists ilk's attitudes don't or won't ever personally affect them, * in fact it's always to their benefit to keep us BIPOC folk down, so why they want to lose that advantage?
Otherwise, mext thing you know NDNs/BIPOC people like myself might be making white people uncomfortable writing things like this.😑
Pointing out how they're obtuse to not realize someone being anti-BLACK Lives Matter (while claiming to be "All Lives Matter" as a dog whistle) while having been AGAINST a bill assisting #MMIW means they don't care about "all" lives but only lives that fit a...certain criteria.
White *cough* skin.

We Indigenous people all know the "types" like Fielder who look down on us as lesser. Seen that movie our entire fucking lives. I'm going to guess without looking she's also against every single pro #LGBTQ bill like Montana's Equality Act as well.
#AllLivesMatter people hate the "Gay Agenda," after all.
It was always the most hateful, LGBTQ-phobic bigots & racists in comment sections who were "against" MMIW bills as they shouted ugly, stereotype racist rhetoric.
Otherwise it garnered widespread support from empathetic people, yet Fielder chose to align herself with the former because she's ignorant enough to believe those POVs just like she thought she had "credible intel" there were vans full of AntiFa coming to Montana.🙄
But, you know, at least the @missoulian condone her & buy into her #AllLivesMattter white supremacy dog whistles. That's their 1st Amendment right to believe it--or know it yet *still* give her a pass under some lame reasoning of being non-partisan.
This is my exercising that 1st Amendment right, too.

Anyway, while 1 cannot say Florio resigned directly because of the Fielder endorsement, I am sure it hastened the process a bit amongst other things.

While unfortunate, I am thinking they had few choices left.
