Too many on the left AND the right have made this error in the last 40 years.

Politics rightly understood should be the domain where various factions find common ground. NOT where good triumphs over evil.

Ideological extremists have destroyed politics in my lifetime.

Rich or upper middle class people who are bored or unhappy or whatever have grasped upon politics as the source of eudaemonia. It would be pathetic if it were not so destructive.

Seriously ... screw the upper middle class and screw the big businesses who influence our government. It's sick and pathetic.

Go to church. Go to synagogue. Find a guru. Leave the rest of us alone in our effort to find common ground.

The 2016 GOP primary prompted within me an existential crisis that fundamentally changed who I am and how I view politics, for the better.

My main regret that it happened when I was already in my 30s.
