"I'm a very private person and I didn't feel the relationship had sufficient substance for it to be made public," NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says of her former "close personal relationship" with former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire. #ICAC

From the blog: NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian recalls conversations with former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire in 2017 but says that "I can't assume that he was truthful with me at that time". Worth remembering that Maguire is under investigation by #ICAC, not Berejiklian.
"You will always be my numero uno," Berejiklian said in August 2017 call with Maguire. She tells #ICAC she meant this in the context of her personal life.
"To the best of my recollection I'm not certain it registered with me," Gladys Berejiklian says after #ICAC hears tapped phone call in 2017 between her and Daryl Maguire re Badgerys Creek and him potentially paying off debts. She says she was often not listening/distracted.
The suggestion in the phone call was that if Badgerys Creek stuff was successful (it is a vague call) he would earn enough money to pay off debts but Berejiklian says this may have been "fanciful" and she might not have been listening.
"I'm very conscious of the fact that I did not know or understand what he was exactly talking about. I may have regarded it as completely fanciful," Gladys Berejiklian tells #ICAC. She says she has no "direct recollection".
