a breakdown of “sociopathy“ for #horror fans!

I noticed a lot of people explaining disorders for horror fans, so here’s my pitch in the tank as someone with clinically confirmed (but not yet dxd!!) ODD

”sociopath” and “psychopath” Are actually outdated terms used by movie marketers in the 80’s to sell the mental illness trope, so I would shy away from using it.
instead you could say antisocial personality disorder, if in teens its ODD or conduct disorder.

What is anti social personality disorder? Antisocial personality disorder is a mental health condition in which a person has a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating the rights of others, apathy, lack of empathy and

The symptoms include:
- exploit, manipulate or violate the rights of others
- lack concern, regret or remorse about other people's distress
- behave irresponsibly and show disregard for normal social behaviour
- have difficulty sustaining long-term relationships

- be unable to control their anger
- lack guilt, or not learn from their mistakes
- blame others for problems in their lives
- repeatedly break the law

The cause of ASPD/ODD/CD is unknown, but genetics and Severe trauma may play a role in it

It’s important to remember that people with this disorder, despite the nature of it, are still capable of happy healthy lives and can enjoy things much the same way you do. They may not have a full range of emotions, but they are not emotionless. They are still human

And not to mention, this disorder is caused by trauma. They have no control over it
