@HyperScapeGame So let me explain a little how updates for the game work. We have 2 ways to update the game 1. Server Side and 2. Title Update. Server side contains various variables we can change like game modes and emergency weapon balance/roster if we break something.
We also have Title Updates which contain new content and the majority of fixes/improvements as these can’t be done just server side and need a new client. Note when we decide to change something we get x amount of data and community feedback first.
Then once we decide to change/fix something, we need to make the fix, we test it internal, we test it with QA and then we package it together with all the other fixes into what is known as a “Title Update”. Note because we’re cross progression we roll out all platforms together.
Once the team in Montreal is happy with the TU we then send it to our QA team which spend X days validating it to make sure we don’t ship something we’re not happy with. At that point we have a GO to send it to MS and Sony, which then in turn do their validation for X days.
Once Sony and MS give their go, we plan to publish on X date and then do some live testing and publish. You’ll realise from these timelines that doing any kind of patch with 1/2 weeks of launching a season is fast, especially when we want data/feedback to make correct decisions.
This is how TUs and Server patches work. Note if you’re “PC Only” you can update quicker as you do your own rollout and you don’t have first party approval.
