*Use Tubebuddy/vidIQ to see their tags
*Copy their target keyword & use in video, title, description, tag
*copy & paste the title of the video as a tag
*Make your vid longer than theirs
*Make thumbnail stand out

Don't spend time optimizing until you've first made a handful of videos to get comfortable with making youtube videos.

When you start on YouTube, you need to self-promote. Share your videos on all your social media and even spam your family & friends to like/comment.
