sometimes adults in fandom /are/ gross. you're responsible for keeping a foot in reality in all your interactions with minors. don't send them porn, don't call them "kitten", don't spend so much time on twitter that you forget how to not be gross

yes you will accidentally or intentionally interact with minors and that's fine. just don't make it sexual, or hierarchal, or possessive, or anything. a kid just came up to you on the street, don't pull out your doujin collection from under your parka

I'm creeped out by fandom adults who seem to have parental instincts popping out of nowhere when random kids share a space with them - take a step back. think about that. stop projecting.

and if for some reason you're deep in these DMs with someone before you realize they're 16 or something - redefine that relationship on the spot. put some distance where it should be. draw some boundaries. get your shit together
