If the IPL franchises were Premier League football clubs. 🏏⚽️ [THREAD]
Mumbai Indians ➡️ Manchester City

The ambition of the owners is second to none and haven’t been complacent at all. Even at the top, the strength in depth of the squad has continued to improve.
Chennai Super Kings ➡️ Manchester United

The original powerhouse of the league, the original team to beat. However, there has been a lull in their success. The impact of their leadership is starting to fade, and are not producing the results like they used to.
Rajasthan Royals ➡️ Newcastle United

Only at the top at the league’s inception. They’ve had all-time greats once play for them, but haven’t had the quality to keep them at the top. They possess players with talent, but only a few shining lights.
Royal Challengers Bangalore ➡️ Everton

The league’s underachievers. They continue to bring in the marquee players to make the difference, but have been weak in other areas.

The owners are still perseverant with the investment and it looks like it’s finally clicking.
Sunrisers Hyderabad ➡️ Arsenal

Have had some respected success, but haven’t hit the heights since.

Show inconsistency due to the gulf in class of the playing XI; have individuals that produce masterclasses, but are too reliant on it and team performances are hot and cold.
Delhi Capitals ➡️ Tottenham

Haven’t had the truest success yet, but have the coach and players that make them capable of achieving the top honours. The blend of foreign superstardom and domestic experience can produce the goods, when it matters most.
Kolkata Knight Riders ➡️ Chelsea

Have tasted the glory days before, but rivals have overtaken them. The heavy investment from the ownership, provides the platform for the coach and players to bridge the gap.
Kings XI Punjab ➡️ West Ham United

A team that find themselves in a cycle of strong starts to season and fall apart quickly after.

This team has individual quality as well, but as a team find ways snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
