Two days later & folks still trying rationalize their advocacy of tossing up some junk against a triple team. Let it go. But letâs (briefly) discuss some things....
I get the pushback against the media cramming you-know-who is the #GOAT down the publicâs throat. Itâs a manufactured talking point. Prob is, if you remove said talking point many of those pushing back on it would be manufacturing their own talking points to the contrary.
Forcefully bringing up out of the blue that the âotherâ #23 is indeed the #GOAT. And donât lie, you KNOW this would happen. In other words, if media wasnât pushing manufactured talking point, detractors of you-know-who would craft their own.
Lots of MJ fans attacked Kobe needlessly so donât act as if this is devoid of precedent. Magic fans chucked darts at 28 year old MJ. Again, thereâs precedent. Established before some of yâall reading this were even born.
Worse thing is, folks from different fan bases canât even enjoy great basketball and great basketball performances b/c they are so intent on carrying out their agenda of elevating one player and downgrading the other.
Said this years ago: Not healthy if every Finals conversation is dominated by a guy who was in his prime a quarter century ago. Regardless of where you fall on this whole wack #GOAT debate that many engage in, but few have the frame of reference to have an informed opinion

Sidebar: I remember I felt like starting trouble on FB last summer and posted that Torontoâs title team last year was better than those Utah teams the Bulls played in the finals. Man, the hilarity that ensued.
I knew somebody I grew up with would disagree vehemently. And yep, a Bulls fan from out Jr high days disagreed. A shame how I had to perform an e-homicide on someone I grew up with. Threw that meat out there on the internet knowing some poor soul would take the bait.
