This article is a perfect example of how the obsessive anti-trans cult recruit unsuspecting women into their ideology under the guise of “feminism” and a narrative of “woman as victim”.

It’s deeply insidious, manipulative gaslighting...

Let’s pick it apart...

To understand the article, you need to know the context.

Stella O’Malley is a well known anti-trans campaigner. She fronted the “Trans Kids: It’s Time To Talk” documentary in 2018, which was just one big dump on trans kids, and has been a committed transphobe ever since...
As a result of Stella, and her ‘gender critical’ cohorts, relentless, obsessive, and often deeply offensive campaigning against trans people and their equality, she has received push-back and criticism.

MUCH of that criticism has come from trans-inclusive cis women like me...
However, Stella and her trans-hostile ‘gender critical’ cult (which are predominantly privileged, white, cis women) constantly ignore the MANY cis women speaking out against them and in support of trans rights - in favour of claiming they’re being “silenced” by “misogynistic men”
This is where the first insidious dig comes in...

When Stella talks about “men” here, what she’s actually referring to is trans women’. When she mentions “women” - This is a particularly nasty dogwhistle that transphobes use to put down trans women in plain sight...
When Stella uses the word “women”, she’s desperately trying to make ALL women feel as though they’re imminently under attack from “men” - She’s calling on the deeply internalised trope of ‘woman as victim’ to rally the troops behind her cause...
Of course, what Stella conveniently fails to disclose, is that “men” (what she calls trans women) don’t “hate” ALL women - they just detest the small group of privileged cis women who have dedicated their lives to hating trans people!...
Stella tries to further trigger women through evoking shared female trauma / experience, by mentioning feminist movements that have called out the patriarchal, misogynistic and unequal society in which we still live.

After all, nobody will dispute that, right?...
By aligning her transphobic narrative with feminist campaigns that are universally recognised and respected, Stella is trying to appropriate support through proximity - equating #MeToo to #IStandWithJKRolling - THESE ARE NOT THE SAME!...
#MeToo was a social movement recognising the number of women who have been abused by men

#IStandWithJKRolling is a response to JK Rowling using her extraordinarily influential platform to attack trans people, and her being called out for it!...
Conflating the abuse that everyday women get AS A RESULT OF BEING WOMEN, and the abuse JK Rowling has received AS A RESULT OF BEING A TRANSPHOBE are two completely different things.

Claiming JKR is “hated” because she’s a woman is entirely disingenuous!...
What is incredibly ironic, is the conjuring up by an anti-trans campaigner of the #BeNice movement, in light of the fact so many ‘gender critical’ transphobes frequently proudly declare “fuck nice” and “I’m a feminist - not the nice kind!”...
Stella is right on one point - There are those who think “the truth is not important; what is important is the cleverly worded burn and the prize is likes, shares and retweets.” - But this describes perfectly the obsessive ‘gender critical’ campaigners, and troll chums...
What then follows is a stream of gaslighting - Everything Stella writes is intended as a “sales brochure” to trigger women’s anxieties to recruit them into the ‘gender critical’ fold.

When you read this article through the lense of a piece of propaganda trying to recruit new members into the ‘gender critical’ cult - Not as an ‘opinion piece’ but as the first step of radicalisation into a hate group, you can start to see how insidious it is!...
In fact, much of Stella’s article is a perfect example of DARVO - Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender - Where those in power present themselves as the ‘victim’ to gain sympathy and support.

This is excellently explained in this articleđŸ‘‡đŸ»... https://metro.co.uk/2020/06/13/guide-darvo-gaslighting-response-people-give-when-called-bad-behaviour-12847680/
This is a perfect example of white, cis, female privilege, putting DARVO into action.

Stella O’Malley’s article is the written version of this - calling on the “woman as victim that needs protecting” trope to rally the troops against her intended target - trans people! 😞 https://twitter.com/melodymcooper/status/1264965252866641920
