@jaketapper I’m a fan of yours, but it was kind of annoying seeing you argue just now that confirming Barrett wouldn’t be unconstitutional. Court packing isn’t either. The question is what’s right, not what’s legal. Republicans declared election year confirmations are wrong.
Can’t have it both ways. If it’s right, they should‘ve confirmed Garland. If it’s wrong, they shouldn’t confirm Barrett. If they go forward with this hypocrisy, they’re saying might makes right—which is what court packing is. There’s only one parallel response. More court packing
By the way, I know you were not taking sides. I just think the constitutionality argument is a distraction.
Good strong statement on Trump’s dangerous rallies at the end though. I liked that you called it immoral. That’s the right word to describe the level of wrongdoing here.
