Im seeing a small batch of bad-faith edgelords prepping their own drawing month as retaliation to #Blacktober and I want every single one of you artists participating in this month's hashtag to be emotionally ready for it in November.
Remember all the drama that went down over "white Nessa"? Same deal. And I wanna warn yall before some of you inevitably RT these bammas and further their engagement.
Some ground rules on how to respond when you see "white Korra" or "white Boondocks":
Some ground rules on how to respond when you see "white Korra" or "white Boondocks":
1) Dont respond to their posts. Twitter's algorithm is fed by how much people participate in "conversation" and the point is to minimize how much food we give to our harassers.

2) IF you have to respond, make your responses short and sweet.
"I dont see it"
"Blacktober did it better"
"If you say so"
"

Make your answers short/sweet. Dont get angry or emotional. Their goal is to GET YOU HEATED. Laugh at them w/ screenshots w/ your followers later.

3) NEVER RETWEET. That includes QRTs. This spreads their engagement even further. Stay in your lane share what youve learned through screenshots and Block like hell. This includes you extroverts out there. This aint the time to give these mooks a bigger megaphone.
4) Keep a record of those who come for you personally, cuz they will. Remember that chicken-shit who steals other people's black ocs and whitewashes them? Yeah, these dudes WANT you to tell them how disgusting they are.

4b) That report option is there for a reason and I strongly encourage yall if your art is stolen and altered, if yiu feel unsafe or threatened, to Report to @TwitterSupport and share amongst your findings community. Make a stink. Make a fuss. Your ART is yours.
5) When sharing pics among followers, make use of Twitter's reply limiters! If you have the option available, its the little globe option at the bottom of your tweets. This will filter out the riff-raff and all they can do is watch or share how much we laugh to their peers.
This is all I have for now. Please expand on this thread if you more to add that I didnt catch. Be there for your friends and fam, yall but dont get tricked and baited into meaningless back-and-forth reply-guys cosplaying as "artists".
Black folk cant have nothin without someone pretending theyre upset about cultural-erasure so stand strong when these dudes play victim and act like youre taking something away from them.
Youre Not and they know it. They just want to parade your emotions to their shitty friends.
