Good morning! One day — one day — I will shut up about CQL!NMJ’s mustache being the right choice for a live action take on the character, but today is not that day!

Folks, this is what WYZ looks like in xianxia costuming *without* a mustache.

Not only is NMJ supposed to be older than the other cultivators of his generation (including LXC) but he is also supposed to be the fearsome Chifeng-zun. I’m sorry, but it would be hard to sustain that if everyone was constantly all “He is baby, your honor.”

WYZ is a traffic stopper, but he *doesn’t* look older than the others when he’s clean shaven *and* he looks softer when he’s clean shaven. What works in animation or 2D doesn’t always work for live action. The CQL makeup team was right here. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
