I’ve seen Tom Nichols and others say the same thing. It’s ridiculous. Translated, it means “If we treat leftists with dignity and respect, then they will certainly treat us the same.” How did that work for Mitt Romney? He was utterly destroyed and steamrolled by the left.

And these people who suggest that we need a “sane, and useful center-right party” cannot acknowledge that there is NO center-left counterpart.

The political left has experienced a seismic-level shift in their politics and policies. Up to and including a desire to shred the Constitution. They literally support violent Marxist street thugs who want to overthrow the government. Oh, if only we were nicer to Antifa...

Additionally, the political left have made it their mission to ridicule, marginalize, and even demonize people on the right. This hatred was not just directed at the GOP, but at the actual American people as well. Obama did it. Hillary did it. And Tom Nichols has done it.

So, if we are just nicer to the left then they will like us?

“The socialists say: Be grateful to Hitler, render thanks to Stalin; be nice and submissive, then the great man will be kind to you later too.”
