1/this came in the mail on Friday. At first, I was annoyed. It is asking me to give money to the @PittPantherClub. I already give. Annually. On a schedule. And it’s addresses to just me. Clearly a mistake in the system..

2/ I can only assume my name isn’t correctly associated with our account and I look like a non-giving bum of a fan. But then I notice the email on the pre-filled card. No, the account is correct. Ok so I start to read the info.
And this is the cost to support one (One!!) student athlete per year. Let’s put some emphasis on student because anybody who is still paying their student loans knows @PittTweet is not a cheap school. But we pay for quality
Which leads me to this number. It doesn’t take a wvu education to realize @Pitt_ATHLETICS is operating in the red. And we can blame the state or we can blame spending but we should really be blaming ourselves
We are certainly in uncharted times. Walk up ticket sales don’t exist. Costs are rising with added cleaning, masks, more transportation to decrease density. And only 5% of us reinvested our tickets. A measly 5% said supporting student education is at least part of why we are here
I frequent this complaint dumping ground and there are way more than 5% that want to be so important that @Pitt_LykeAD jumps on their suggestions & at wills fires coaches week to week. She doesn’t have time to listen because she needs $7 mil to keep the students in class
So be upset as you want for how the season is shaping but we are not supporting them 1/4 as much as Clemson, Alabama, Ohio state, penn state, and wvu support their teams. Chew on that one. We are far inferior to those two in support
We are in the bottom of acc support per alumni. Consistently last or second to last. IN THE ACC. And then we want to come out on top of the leaderboard? Let’s try funding that adventure.
Too mad at football to care? Great check another sport. @Pitt_WSOC and @Pitt_MSOC are having fantastic years. Check them out. Or check the *STUDENT* athlete success fund box and help them with classes.
I’ll be sending mine in tomorrow and keeping in mind that most of those players who gave their all yesterday are going to class tomorrow and won’t play in the NFL. So we need to make sure they can also succeed with their degree

Just kidding 1 more. It doesn’t take $5000. It doesn’t take $1000. We all have loans and mortgages and bills. But give up 2 beers and a pizza and send the $25 to @Pitt_ATHLETICS. If every Sat night coach on here did that, the deficit would shrink dramatically
