If I could create three pods of 10(+1) for blended learning, children’s quality of learning would improve because their Teacher could offer them more consistent levels of individual attention &their socialisation experiences would be more positive. School staff would be SAFE.

I’m convinced Government, Ministers appointed to Department of Education, and Civil Servants behind their decisions are totally ignorant to the nature of the 1999 & 2015 curriculums for Primary Schools. Children aren’t sedentary with a textbook #activelearning. @VoiceforTeacher

I don’t blame our unions anymore. From the start it has been a total PR exercise to reopen schools irrespective of the consequences, purely to please economic interests. There has been adaptions. As long as schools stay open, a box is ticked. Votes secured... that’s the mindset.

Just as Government decided to ignore NPHET advice to move to level 5 despite the obvious red flags raised by experts. “Let’s stick with level 3 to avoid angering the public further because we’ll need their votes in the future.” They misjudged that one too....

The optics say everything... Endless money pit spent on the Convention Centre to ensure social distancing in Parliament so the vital work of Government could continue safely. Isn’t Education & Children’s well-being just as vital?

How can @MichealMartinTD measure that children’s Educational wellbeing has been “enhanced” since August/September as opposed to their previous experience? They continue to experience the largest class sizes in Europe...amid the mental strains of a global pandemic?

Teachers voicing reality aren’t “moaning”/ desperate to “enhance holidays.” We are asking for Government to ensure your child & their Teacher stays safe,reduces contacts & #COVID19 does not enter schools. Respect our experience on spread of illness & professional integrity.
