I speak only for myself on this, but I’m genuinely as disappointed as anyone at the news that the production of the #Timeform annuals is to cease – I was a buyer of C&H before I ever had the honour of playing a small part in producing Racehorses since 2004.

Getting first glance at some of the essays, and trying to spot interesting horses for the following year has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of my winter over the last several years.

I don’t think there is one specific issue, but a racing calendar so different to that when the series launched, alongside a wholesale shift in peoples media consumption have sadly left them in borrowed time in recent years.

There’s many currently in the industry that have contributed down the years, and more recently some lesser know names like Chris Williams, John Ingles and Paul Muncaster alongside Geoff Greetham who deserve recognition for their huge contributions to them since I joined.

This is definitely not the beginning of the end as some have suggested on here since the news was announced. Onwards and upwards.
