Controversial Metro 3 carshed shifted out of Aarey Milk Colony. It will now be built at Kanjurmarg, announces CM Uddhav Thackeray @htTweets

The car shed at Aarey was being opposed by environment activists and citizen groups. Before assembly elections, Shiv Sena had announced it would not allow carshed in Aarey Colony.

Thackeray government has already decided to withdraw cases lodged by police against citizens and activists who had protested against Metro car shed at Aarey Colony.

CM Thackeray says alternative land to be used for Metro carshed at Kanjurmarg is owned by government so it won't need to spend money for the same.

However, the Metro 3 project would see time and cost overruns with the decision to shift carshed out of Aarey Colony.
