OKAY SO yesterday i was rewatching s3 and it occurred to me that not Besides timeskip hina playing the same role on the right as daichi did for karasuno, there were also parallels between first yr daichi/first year hinata. mini thread!
so this was something i hadn't picked up on before, but daichi mentions when he gives his introduction at karasuno as a third year that he actually played the left at his middle school. hinata as we know v well didn't have a team so he didn't really have Any position, but it's
clear that he had never given receiving a second thought since he didn't really ever /have/ to. daichi had a lot more experience coming into his first year of hs, but it's made clear in flashbacks that he and suga + asahi had to put in a lot of extra work to make it to where
they are today; daichi was not /always/ a good receiver. and at the same time that this is like.. common knowledge it didn't really hit me until last night because... we get to see daichi as this already-established player. so, some parallels:
and then of course we see timeskip hina play the same position as daichi did for karasuno! they go through an explanation earlier in the show which illuminates the difference between giving the position of the right to a cannon like ushijima, or an all-rounder like daichi; in
timeskip it's quite clear that hinata can (and does) do it all. so yeah nothing revolutionary but i thought the parallels (esp seeing them visually) were so nice i just wanted 2 share! proud of our boys! end thread
