i dont trust white men who make jokes "calling out" white women because it's often just a veneer for their misogyny.

they also don't have the range

people who follow me know i dont hesitate to call out problematic white women. but i think white men should call out other white men.

Not chop and screw Black feminist talking points and put it into a misogynist blender and call it comedy.

also what's often conveniently left out about white women lying about Black men raping them is that it took the consent of the white men around them to prosecute/lynch them. white men created the myths that make that lie so dangerous. they created & enforced the laws/social order

and that terror is inextricably linked to the unrapeability of Black women. It was one piece of the terror white people wielded against Black folks.

it is a part of racism. rape is uniquely racialized in the united states because of what white men have done and continue to do.

so if i wanted a white dude to talk about this shit on a national stage, I'd want him to approach it from a place that shows that settler colonialism and white supremacy—led and enforced by white men—are at the root of that phenomenon.

otherwise, he's just muddying the waters.
