yes. willow and gus fit the best friend cliche. but that& #39;s what makes them WORK so well. let me explain why willow park, gus porter, luz noceda and amity blight work so well as a dynamic.

willow is what you would call a stereotypical "nice girl outcast" from any given cliche. but dana makes her work so well with her dynamic with luz. willow may be a doormat, but she& #39;s powerful as fuck. she& #39;s badass, she literally covered a whole school in vines from ONE seed.

she& #39;s grown so much as a person?? she quite literally started a rally against the dictaitor of the land for her friends, and if that doesn& #39;t take serious guts-
she takes responsibility for her actions and tries to grow as a person, as shown in Hootys Moving Hassle.

willow is super sweet and caring, and dana takes this to a whole new level. in Hootys Moving Hassle, she gets so angry over Boscha and Amity teasing her she& #39;s able to summon vines out of pure will, no spell circle or anything, and that& #39;s AMAZING.

she grows (haha) so much as a person, and isn& #39;t afraid to stand up for herself. For example, in wilw, she tells Luz when Luz pushes her and Gus too much. She& #39;s grown so much from iwata, when she just curled up in a ball at Amitys bullying. This brings me onto her and Amity.

Amity is shown constantly picking on willow and generally being a bitch, but when Luz sets off to be friends with the girl who has picked on willow for YEARS, willow puts Luz& #39;s feelings before her own and decides to vaguely trust amity after understanding willow.

Willow cares so much about her friends, and that& #39;s what makes her so great as a character, she& #39;s willing to put her reputation, status, everything at stake for her friends. She& #39;s incredible as a person.

Gus is what you would call stereotypical as well. But this isn& #39;t a bad thing. Gus relates to many kids all over the place as being overlooked underrapreciated considered weak. His and Willow& #39;s dynamic consists of us weirdos have to stick together and they were gr8 friends already

They welcomed Luz with open arms, without caring she was human, without caring she was weird! They cared about her, and Willow put her rep at Hexside to make sure Luz wasnt dissected! They welcomed her from the moment they saw her! Gus and Willow help Luz out against Boscha, even though Boscha has made Willow& #39;s life a living hell. Willow took the punishment for Luz, and re-challenged Boscha in Luz& #39;s honor, without caring abt her social status! Heck, they even rubbed off on Boscha& #39;s minions during the game!

We haven& #39;t seen much of anything with Gus/Amity friendship, but I like to imagine they bond over silly little things like human stuff or berry picking! Gus has generally been a great person, and been v welcoming and loving to everyone, even still being friends with Mattholomue!

and finally, Amity. Amity is your stereotypical "bully redemption arc", except she isn& #39;t. Amity saw what she did wrong in LIL, and immediately tried bettering herself as a person! Through NINETEEN episodes, she has gone from Alpha Bitch to Cutest Little Bean, in ONE SEASON!

Willow and Gus welcomed her with wide open arms, and they& #39;ve all grown and learned as people! I want a see an episode where they all body swap, and get in eachothers shoes. Amity has had such a great character arc with the rest of the characters!

So yeah! There& #39;s nothing wrong with having stereotypes! If you don& #39;t like Willow and Gus because of that, I suggest you check yourself. Also, if you don& #39;t like them because they& #39;re black? Screw you. Get out. I hate you. Not joking.
