As the #EndSars enters another day of protests, let's be guided by our strategy to sustain the protests to forestall fatigue. Here, a few numbered list of things to do- to sustain the marches:
#EndSars
1) Decide in advance on where to occupy. A risk analysis MUST be undertaken by the organisers of where to occupy. If you're occupying Abuja, decide where to occupy without creating risks to protesters
One arrest, or killings too many, has the effect of instilling fear in protesters who are dealing with an irresponsible government. Fear of death will prevent people from coming out.
Having established your risks template, choose the convergence point, which shouldn't be far away from the occupying point. Long walks will create fatigue.
In Abuja, NASS provides a low security risks. If protesters so establish, make the decision to occupy it. The National and global effects of occupying it will be huge
2) Organise around your strategic plans:
a) Get beddings, food, lighting, megaphones;
b) Organise Marshalls who would ensure orderliness;
c) Mobilise first aiders in the event of emergencies - we are in the wet season when temps drop
d) Mobilise network of lawyers who would have their offices opened 24/7 to attend to cases of arrests, detention and trials
3) Marches and occupy points should be organised in a manner that the public isn't stopped from exercising its rights. Remember as you've the right to protest, so does the public have right to movement
4) If protesters are coming with cars, decide how best to utilize these cars. If they are part of the strategic plan, ensure that parking lots are established quickly and security Marshalls given charge to secure them
If the cars are not, advise protesters not to come to protests with their cars. Pulling Marshalls into securing them takes away vital resources of the protests
5) At occupying grounds, ensure that alcohol and substances like weeds are not taken. If anybody decides to, excuse him/her out.
6) If you're occupying NASS, prepare your statements that you'll handover to the leaders of NASS. Your statements will detail your positions on #EndSars and #ReformPolice
Your statements are official records of your communication with the leaders of NASS. If the leaders say, #EndSars, what next, your statements have your alternative. Clear and unambiguous.
The world knows your single demand, #EndSars but it doesn't know what you are proposing when #EndSars is achieved.
7) You will achieve a lot through strategic organisation of time, resources and processes within the movement. Nobody is saying choose your Leader who'll be your face. Choose organising leaders from among you to implement your strategic plans to stay the course.
Some people should be responsible for securing vital supplies of water, food, toilet facilities, batteries of megaphones, first aids.
8) People will tire out quickly during occupy, do decide in advance how you'll manage them. Do you occupy in shifts? As some are leaving, others are coming?
9) Ensure unity of purpose. There should be no open opposition to already decided strategic plans. If there are, decide the alternative in an open and democratic way. Don't fight.
10) Remember you're may deal with people who may not think that peaceful protests are the way forward. Educate them on the need to be peaceful, even in the face of provocation.
11) Spontaneous protests can easily fizzle out. Organise people around activities during the occupy. If you don't, some people may break out to do things that'll put everyone in a bad light.
12) Finally, you need the media. Mobilize friendly and unfriendly media houses to cover your protests/occupation. They'll become your witnesses if any untoward things happen.
Finally, may the gods protect you all as you give your bits to #EndSars.

Prosperity will be kind to you all.

Good morning from the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine.

Keep safe!
