This thread takes a deep dive tracking all important trends national, state & district level

1M new cases & 12.8K deaths were added in the past 13 days. Only 8.7L active cases now

Cases growing at 1.07% & has decreased considerably

7-day avg. daily new cases have been falling for 24 days now

Daily active cases still in -ve territory

Tests growing at 1.4%.

Daily tests averaged 11.3L past 7 days

Daily deaths ~937 level

Growth of tests slightly above that of cases now

Daily TPR at 6.4% and has shown a steady decline over the past 2 weeks

53% of 8.7 crores tests so far are Rapid antigen tests

Most states do not report test results by type of tests

There has been considerable variation in the aggregate daily testing reported by all states together and that by ICMR.

This variation (taken as 7-day avg. had reached 2L some time ago and is now being evened out.

Kerala has the highest avg. daily growth of cases at 3.4% followed by Meghalaya
Very high TPR in MH, Goa, NL, SK & KL

A relatively low mortality rate of 1.54% at the national level

High variation across states

MH, GJ, PB & DL & WB havnig highest MR

Districts such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Solapur, Kolkota have highest MR

High variations in these rates are apparent in most states

Mortality rate is going up in several states: AS, CT, UT, GA & TR, HP, MN, CH

Kerala reported the highest daily number of cases y'day in India.

It also did the second highest number of tests per million population

Trends in daily new cases across states. Some of the states like KA & WB, KL are reporting new daily highs

Trends in daily test per million per day and test positive rate across states with at least 20K reported cases

TS, BR, AS, GJ, MP, JH, J&K & PY decreasing their daily tests on avg.

Top 50 districts:

Accounts for 51% of cases & 61.5% of deaths

These were 51.7% & 63.6% when we reached 6M, indicative increasing spread

Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, N. Parganas, Ahmed Nagar, Thiruvanathapuram, Malapuram & Kozhikode reporting new daily highs

TL;DR:

India has crossed ONE peak at the national level but not a time to drop guard & celebrate

Many states & districts are still seeing daily new highs

With impending state elections & festive season one shouldn't be surprised to see a rebound of cases in many places
