I thought it weird to call Supreme Court expansion "court packing" until I came across the GOP's 2nd most important long game strategy.
Court packing is a more reasonable umbrella term if the intent is to maximize far-right justices to control progressiveness & blunt rights.
Along with voter suppression (actually, suppressing mainly non-GOP votes) through gerrymandering, tight ID restrictions, in-effect poll taxes, & minimizing polling places, the GOP intended to shrink SCOTUS under Dem presidents & expand it under GOP presidents.
Voter suppression was the path to effect the redirect of US politics, of controlling expansion of civil rights & liberty.
Voter suppression would gain the GOP the power, through control of the Senate or Congress, to instill partisanship/discrimination into the judicial system.
This is conspiracy against the US govt, willful treason against self-govt.
Don't ever let conservatives of any stripe try to lecture you about "activist judges" ever again; they aren't against the idea of activist judges so long as they push/support far-right policies.
