It's #WorldMentalHealthDay !

Therapy is one of the best things you can do for yourself regardless of how happy you are.

Through it I found that I have situational and seasonal depression & obsessive and compulsive behaviors (not OCD)!

I learned how these things manifest and how to try to gain control of it.

It's not perfect every time but I have been doing a lot better since recognizing it.

I still have days where I will just lay on the couch and do nothing for hours but it's less than it used to be!
I also learned what hobbies affect my mental health / spoons and how to reprioritize.

My relationship with my husband has been the best it's ever been since learning these things!
I am still very much in therapy and it's still helping me understand. Having someone that is an unbiased person to talk to really helps put things in a better light for me.
I understand that therapy isn't affordable by everyone, unfortunately, but at the absolute minimum being open about your struggles with people you trust can help you.
I'm not perfect and never will be but my friends shared their life with me and through them I learned about myself and ways to try to control things until I could get into therapy.

I am absolutely not shaming those that can't go or don't feel ready yet.
I just want to normalize that therapy is for everyone regardless of how "fine" you might think you are.

Also don't compare your struggles to others to justify why you don't think you need therapy.
If someone is drowning in 6 ft of water and someone else is drowning in 60 ft, you don't look at them and go "obvs the 60ft drowning person has it worse." they're both drowning. They both need help.

Therapy is for everyone 💕
