Around march/april right before day6 comeback, jae came back after filmed something for eaj project. On the way back in the taxi, he suddenly hyperventilating so he asked the driver to go to the hospital instead. He got his body checked but the doctor said he got nothing wrong
physically. He went to several procedures to check his physical condition but since there's nothing particularly wrong, (the doctor) suggested him to go to a Physiatrist and got his mental condition checked instead. After he went and took the medicine they give him
he felt better & that's when he realizes maybe his body was reacting to his mental condition instead. since it happens at the same time w/ the pandemic (in KR) it was harder for him to handle. After that moment, he got panic attacks like once a week so it became a regular thing.
Jae said he always care about mental health all this time but after he experienced it himself, he claimed to be a more active advocate abt the topic now.
He also mentioned about the mental burden he has as an idol with ppl expecting you to be a perfect person
that's why he wanted to show more of his imperfect human side to the fans.

Nowadays he blocked a lot of things in his life that doesn't make him happy, especially on the internet. He mute & blocked a lot of things on twitter because ppl just push their narrative and twist words
"self-care" routine jae do nowadays:
- take his meds
- do his prayer
- when he's going to meet ppl for things like business, he took a breath before it
- think about happy things in life
how jae control his anxiety when it comes up:

jae still not sure, but if you got physical reaction bcs of it you should seek professional help.

Jae mentioned other day6 member went through the same thing with him, and that member got better after they seek for pro help
Jae said when ppl in his line of work got stressed out/mental problem but they can't talk abt it to anyone, bcs they might lose their value and when they lose their value, their company might lose money. It's a sad truth, so he's very grateful bcs his company care about him
Jae mentioned his CEO really cares about his condition so he really respects that. He wishes that the standard of perfection esp in the music industry should be lessened (and care more about mental health)

He's very grateful bcs the fandom has been very supportive to him
Jae said that (the demon) was such a huge comeback for them, but right before it even started he and the other member got diagnosed so he felt guilty, but the fandom has been very kind and supportive and he thinks it's something not common to see, so his very grateful
Nowadays jae's doing better, he got to do twitch which is another platform for him to cope with everything since he's been passionate about gaming.

He still hasn't figured out what is the actual trigger for his panic attack/anxiety, so he's been searching for it.
Jae tried to talk to a therapist in the past, he used an app to do counseling (bcs publically, it might not look good for him to physically visit a therapist) but he said it doesn't really work well for him so he stopped. Now he just takes his medicine.
Jae said he's a very open and honest, so he uses platform like ig live to communicate with fans, told the fandom that they can't do the demon comeback because of him.

He saw (JB) from GOT7 did a collab with represent so he wanted to collab too and use that to spread awareness
Based on his experience, Jae recommends ppl who might have mental problems to consult to a therapist first before taking any medications, bcs meds will affect your hormones and body, it can make you feel weird.

(he claimed his no professional so it's based on his experiences!)
Right now, jae is actually feeling kinda afraid to do a comeback and do promotion again. So he's taking this time of pandemic to heal & prepare himself so when he finally can stand on the stage again, he can do his best and present the best of himself to his fans.
"If you're on the stage but suddenly feel something wrong with your mental, you could just take the mic and say 'Hey, let me just go for a bit'"

Jae: You know what? I don't think my fans would even mind that. I think they would just let me get off the stage for a bit
- ig live ended -

(i might miss some points / altered some words to fit everything in 1 tweet, so I highly recommend watching the full ig live when they uploaded it! ENG is not my 1st language & mental health is not my expertise, so pls contact me for any misinformation!)
