A little girl came into the bakery today w/her mom, wearing a Disney princess dress & tiara because it was her birthday. Mom let her pick out a cake from our case & she picked one with yellow & pink roses. We write messages on our cakes for free so I asked if they wanted that. /1
I had some bright neon pink icing left & held up a jar of sprinkles where mom could see but the little girl couldn’t. Mom nodded enthusiastically “oh definitely.” Wrote “Happy Birthday [Name]” in big fancy letters and then scattered some pastel sprinkles all around the cake. /2
Put the cake back in the box and walked around counter to show the girl & her mom. Little girl was so excited she screamed. The sprinkles were a surprise & she just lost it. “OH WOW IT’S SO PRETTY!” “Shh! Ok, inside voice!” says Mom. “sorry! Thank you I really really like it!” /3
That’s how I spent my day. Making a little princess very happy on her 7th birthday with some neon pink icing and a handful of surprise sprinkles.
It was AWESOME. /4
I’m over the negativity that’s so common here. Just going to ignore/mute/block the blathering scoundrels and trolls. Too many of people need some pink icing and surprise sprinkles in their lives & it shows. /5
