I am 100% positive I’ve never received a message better than this. This kid has got some hutzpah. 😂
questioning my empathy, or calling me shameful, is fine, but I want to say that I posted this because I liked the boldness of this kid contacting me. What I did not post, because I’m not looking for pats on the back, is how I’m helping him out while having him do the work. /1
Doing this for him would not be helping him at all. It would be saying that you don’t have to do the work yourself, somebody will do it for you. I have five kids; I expect my kids to read a book when they have a report to write on it. /2
What I have done is send him a free download link for the audiobook, give him suggestions to ask his teacher for an extension, and offer to read his report before he hands it in. So if that’s shameful or not empathetic, so be it. Have a great weekend everybody. /3
