Welcome to the Sound Horizon mega thread. In this thread, you’ll find my thoughts opinions on the story albums Revo has made so far here. Threads for LH & other stuff to come at a later time.

While reading, here are some of the emotions you may feel while reading expressed in emojis: . Whether or not that’s all of them remains to be seen. I may have some pretty takes.

Edit I may list some songs as t and put a number after it. T1 = track 1 for example because I’m too lazy to type out names & it’s easier. Read thread at your own risk as a warning for takes. Ok, enough rambling. Without further ado, here we go.

We start with Chronicle. T 1 is a nice instrumental with birds. Nothing too fancy here... Good intro though.

T2 intro sounds like Xenoblade & Bravely. Maybe a hint of Final Fantasy. Nice guitar in it and introduction. There was a voice there too but I think the track would’ve sounded better without it?

T3 intro sounds like Fire Emblem.... The melody is nice as well as the instrument arrangement. I like the flute(?) melody that’s in the middle of the track. RIP to the poet. Dude bro had balls to tell the queen she

wasn’t the fairest in the land. Reminds me of Disney’s Snow White... Eh but not a super exciting story for the track. Sorry to tell you lady traveler, your lover is dead. End of the song’s melody is kinda meh though...

T4 interesting choice for intro instrument. The music has a Japanese feel too it.... Outright melody is ok...

I like the story has a person running though raining blood... Heh heh heh, Slayer vibes but this song isn’t about the Antichrist being born...

Or Satan’s breaking free from purgatory to bring doom to the world. This story has FE vibes to it... kinda reminds me of Alm & Celica a bit but memory is hazy due to not playing Valentia for a while.

T5 sounds happy like someone accomplished was victorious. Odd considering the hero in the last track died. Nice typical victory theme.... very FE & Bravely like.... Also hint of credit themes at the end?

T6 Armin, what are you doing in the story of Chronicle? The girl’s dream to become a sailor reminds me so much of Armin only she doesn’t have to kill to achieve her dreams. Nice melody for childhood dreams. Instrument arrangements are nice too. Choir gives dreamy vibes

T7 God of thunder story sounds like typical mythology creation story. It’s nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Arms for seeds is interesting though... Instrument arrangement makes the song kinda childish though. But I think this is told though a child’s eyes so it kinda works?

At least I think this is supposed to be told though a child’s POV because there was a sad child’s voice in the track? I might be wrong....

T8 has a nice guitar & sounds like Tiz’s theme a bit which is nice. This track is mostly good with a heavier sound but the sound disappears at the end

T9 kinda sounds like a heavenly theme like the celestial theme from Okami. Nice piano, melody and arrangement as the song goes further along. Toward the end the track starts to sound a bit messy with the baby crying(?) Then it ends abruptly...

T10 sounds happy like something out of a slice of life anime. Maybe a bit too happy. Middle has an instrument that sounds like the market from TLoZ OoT. Nice theme but maybe a bit too cheerful.

Bt1 for bonus track 1. These may or may not appear as I don’t have access to all of them so I review what I find. This theme sounds like something from a beach level in a game.

Bt2 Very cheery and happy like it’s a party of some kind or even a circus... So happy

Anyway that’s it for Chronicle. It’s a nice album but nothing too fancy. Good for a first cd though. Game feels were nice as was the raining blood lyric. Thanatos is next

Want to add a note here. This journey through Sound Horizon may only be a one time thing. For me, listening to it multiple times may end up becoming like a chore... The songs I noticed aren’t as good as the first time I listened which is what I discovered when

Listening to bits of certain songs over & over. I’m also not the biggest fan of musical theater so...

Thanatos time! Here we go!

T1 Nice intro but nothing fancy

T2 the first of many SH songs with vocalists. If I had to pick a favorite female SH singer, it’s Aramary. The intro first sounds a bit creepy then goes into accordion & acoustic followed by narration. Nice melody then the vocals start

The vocals are catchy & ok. There’s a certain instrument here that reminds me of the ba’al theme from BD & it’s a nice callback for me

Story is kinda weird... but maybe I should wait until the end before giving anymore thought to it... For now, I’ll just focus on the music itself

T3 has nice opening choir like the kind I hear at church. Piano is nice with the heaviness of guitar. Thanatos is controlling her for some weird reason..... The ending is a butterfly searching for some killer puppet of Thanatos? Wut?

T4 has a nice accordion and Aramary’s vocals are good. Good melody... Dead baby already... k. So Thanatos killed the kid??

T5 Nice guitar and vocals. Melody is good. So someone passes away offering her body to pain, believing in some kind of god. She also loved being alive? Also the horses are kinda random or is she being carried to heaven in some kind of carriage?

T6 Harp, choir, flute & vocals are calming.... So Thanatos has trapped Samsara and Paradise at the bottom of the sea. Samsara is trapped in Thanatos’s castle if I’m correct & he misses his lover....

T7 has the creepy instrument & clock again..... Thanatos is basically a creepy stalker who plagues this girl’s dreams.... She also mentions a false Thanatos & a false Samsara.... ????? Maybe it’ll make sense later

Bt1 nice game sounds Reminds me of play Pokémon Crystal as a kid. I love the fact that Revo was a gaming nerd.

For some reason @KaidoTheKaido has Rinne no Gyaku Saisei on his channel played back on his channel. I’m assuming it’s bonus track 2? Of not, why? The song is nice backwards as it is forward....

Bt3 is funny. It sounds like a person hating technology because it won’t work for them & Revo asks them if they’re struggling Trash I. The trash snowy pile sounds like an Elysion hint....

Anyway overall thoughts on Thanatos. The music is good but the story is confusing... I think I might like SnK’s story telling better in the area that it’s easier to understand but that’s all. Tomorrow we will try tackle the third story album if school work isn’t too busy

Side note: I know I said I should wait until the end.... That didn’t work out... oh well

Let’s get Lost

T1 ok nice water flow at the beginning and calming melody... Piano sounds lovely. The story for the first song is very straightforward. It’s about all kinds of lost stuff.... Being lost from home, death, lost relationships, those kinds of things.....

T2 has nice piano and nice guitar for a heavier sound Jimang’s English is very good. This song seems to be about some hero looking for his love... a princess perhaps?

T3 has a great melody like last time. Aramary’s vocals are nice and the guitar is The story has a fire emblem feel to it. Hmmm this story reminds me of Ymir’s Curse..... Those wounded by the beasts become beasts themselves... Those who are descendants of Ymir

Become Titans themselves when injected with spinal fluid. Ymir defended the king unlike the girl who shot her lover... Both were killed with arrows. However, the king died of old age I believe while the girl committed suicide. Interesting how AoT crosses over with SH...

T4 Starts out whimsical then continues into a more whimsical melody... A magician who wanted to revive the dead... Memories of watching FullMetal Alchemist come back... Edward using forbidden alchemy to revive his mother

Like the man wants to use forbidden secrets to revive the dead.... Seems like he payed the price after having his wishes granted

T5 nice jazzy melody... it seems like some kinda game is going on within the cage.... I get massive Stella vibes from this. I think this was teasing Stardust in some way especially with the red lipstick, flowers and murder... Maybe perhaps, this was before we knew

Stella committed suicide? The mentioning of Luna is also interesting..... Nein????

T6 Nice melody but is this some kind of Roman hint? Boy not being accepted could be Hiver not being born & then he goes with the twin dolls searching for the forgotten things... Stories?

T7 Lovely melody & accordion.... I get some Moira vibes from this... Elef attacking & destroying cities after Misia is killed... Girl is a survivor & tells the tale of how her city was destroyed but doesn’t know did it... AoT rumbling vibes from this...

Wonder if we’ll get to see anyone who survived the rumbling in AoT... This song may become relevant again if Revo gets involved with s4... More AoT to come when we reach Moira. Elef is similar to Eren.

T8 has a nice melody... Grisha vibes.... Eren too... Wanted to protect the things they love but at a certain cost. The monster serving as the pointer being trampled by the army.... Survey corps member being trampled by the Titans....

But as for this memory... What is this talking about, Seishun no Iberia??? Seems like that since it mentions war....

T9 Nice guitar intro..... This story is talking about a skeleton boy...... Hiver? Then it mentions a girl... Perhaps it’s about the two characters on the cover of the cd??

T10 is interesting. Song is ok but what’s going on? I am inside him & her. Continuing a story? Uh....? What????????? No escape from Lost as you want to Live?

T11 is a nice piano song with running water. I get vibes from a Bravely Track here... A melody of a nostalgic something... Whatever that track is called. I just know that Bravely track has a flute in it.

Then there’s a voice at the end asking if we’ve forgotten anything.... Then tells us that they won’t let us escape until we Lost it. Nice pun....

Bt1 is just a sped up version of T5... I hear a familiar melody... I think it’s from an earlier track in here... Perhaps bits of Stardust is more evident here or I’m just imagining things

Bt 2 is a nice game theme screams Pokémon.... Wait, it’s white Illusion

Bt3 is more game stuff which is nice

Bt4 is nice with a cute game of rock-paper-scissors but what does she mean by application??

Bt5 is nice but at don’t have a translation of it so no thoughts in story... Sounds like someone is playing a game....

Lost was fun.... I wasn’t expecting this much for shadowing & Titan crossover. Stories seemed to be more straightforward.... Next is Pico Magic...

It’s Pico Magic today! Ok for this one, I’m threading Pico Magic & Reloaded together. If there is any repeated tracks from what I’ve heard so far, I will skip them.... I won’t be able to do Message to Lafrenze Pico version cause I couldn’t find it on YouTube...

T1 Nice whimsical game melody. The character acknowledges she’s the same girl from the Lost Bonus track. I like how this song talks about an incident where Revo took Aramary to an Indian restaurant....

T2 is so funky...it also gives an overview of everything which is cool... Also what does it feel like to harm your beloved? This is a reflection of Revo’s own experiences.... Just kidding... lol

T3 was heard in Story cd 1 so it’s being skipped. See Chronicle thread for thoughts on it.

T4 sounds very game like with that gloomy choir intro.. It seems this song is about Ballad’s gf finding out her lover died

T5 reminds of Sky tower a but from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon... Nice guitar & vocals... Thunder God got the power & defeated the evil & won a girl’s heart in the end.... Also what is that white crow that’s flying around? Is it an observer?

T6 this is a preview for an Elysion song.... Nice heavier sounds... That guitar before the giggling... it sounds similar to a section Megadeth’s song, Lucretia... Was that intentional? The story seems to be about a guy who went crazy because

The girl he controlled broke free... Even as the guitar solo goes on during the giggling, it screams Lucretia to me....

No music for t7 but I did find the story... So this watch has regrets & wants Lafrenze to save her & he forgets causing her to hold a grudge & she dies... Ok....

Since everything else on Pico Magic is repeated, it can be skipped. So onto bt1.... Nice choir & narration but no translations so I can’t give thoughts on the story portion...

Bt2 is a reversed song... There’s also a narration there that’s not backwards but I have no translation.... I think I hear a Lost Melody there or Elysion melody there but can’t think of the names off the top of my head.... Alright next is 4 tracks from Reloaded

T1 Sounds like Metroid... Nice melody and the song is heavy.... It seems like this song is a big Elysion teaser... The bird from Pico Magic is dead.... This song seems to be an introduction to Michele’s insanity before properly introducing her....

T2 There’s our Michele, right? She just hasn’t been named yet... The accordion is nice... it seems her father was insane & tortured her. He tried to kill her after seeing she had some kind of power but she ended up killing him instead...

T3 & T4 are switched in my playlist... So Ark in Reloaded... a girl wanted to return to paradise with her brother by killing him...

Final track today.... Nice melody & violin... Here’s a proper introduction to Michele.... She’s gone insane & it seems Saint-Laurent is gonna find out why.... I also hear a bit of El’s Portrait in here too?

Well this was interesting melodies & stories were fun. Good intro to Michele. Next on our list is Chronicle 2nd... Then we head to Elysion on Spotify

T1 Nice organ and scary voice... Then we get a nice melody with a good guitar intro... All this Comrades & killing enemies & this cycle of hatred reminds me of what’s happening in AoT. It seems this organization killed this person’s mother & the child knows something she’s not

T3 I heard this in the Pico Magic thread but a page turning sound with Aramary doing some of the narration. Narration was a bit shorter? Nothing else seems to have changed from the Pico Magic version....

T5 Nice flute and sad violin... I get Elef & Misia vibes from this song but this song isn’t about them... I wonder why the red stone separated the two characters & what for?

T6 Ah Ballad & his gf get a back story as well as the corrupt queen... Britannia was invaded but it doesn’t tell us who won the war... Lots of things happened in this song...

T7 Sasageyo! Love the Sasageyo melody as it’s the best part of the song. Anyway, this song is very fire emblem like..... It seems like Arvalez keeps fighting... does he want to avenge his wife & take back his motherland from the enemy?

T8 Fire Emblem vibes again.... Even Jimang’s choir sounds like the kinds you would hear in those videos of armies singing on YouTube. Sasageyo melody again Best part! Charlotte was killed & this man wanted to avenge her in some way...

T9 nice melody... We learn about the past of Alvarez... This girl turns out to be Rose, Britannia’s queen. It’s cool how she wants to make new History instead of continue the cycle of hate.... Maybe that’s how AoT will end if Eren is stopped

T10 This story keeps playing out like a Fire Emblem game... Even the melody in this track is very FE like.... RIP Alvarez..... He wanted to go back to Charlotte but died before he could reach her.

T11 More organs & a clock... Interesting story.... No one can escape fate...

T13 Nice Italian vibes from song & certain names of places.... The songstress Giuilietta escapes was killed by Roberia. karma ended up paying her back though the schemes of PM Galeazzo & Mistress Galeazzo... They don’t call Pride one of the 7 deadly sins for nothing

T14 Music sounds whimsical for a sad song. Aramary’s vocals sound nice while narrations are going on. RIP to the lady who only wanted to sing...

T15 Revo has composed a nice pirate theme. A character’s name is Agnes.... Agnes.... Agńes... She has a necklace like our wind vestal now, does she? Funny how those two have a necklace & their names are similar....

T17 Nice melody Grandma is telling her child an epic tale of how about the Great Thunder God.... Too bad we never found out of the evil god was defeated. I would’ve liked to know how the battle ended too kid...

T18 BD vibes from this..... That Person’s Name Is vibes from this.. Then we get to the organ... Reversal??? Lucia didn’t understand the truth of the book but is yet again invited to change History...

T19 This seems like a giant Roman hint.... in the end she could not escape the hands of fate... Hiver’s death? Nice melody.....

T20 Nice wrap up song. Nice little message of never giving up no matter the hardships....

T21 Nice end quote with a nice piano melody

Don’t have access to the bonus track so that’s the end of Chronicle 2nd. That so was soooo long! I’m not sure if I got everything since it’s late & two hours is a long time to listen & read lyrics... Well uh, onto Elysion!

T1 Nice heavy intro.... Love Aramary’s vocals... So El comes from a very poor family, right? She wants a picture book & her dad goes on a quest to find her desired gift... This paradise mentioned is El’s dream... Door closing at the end...Tasogare nostalgia

T2 Nice melody... That guitar is so good... So now we have this masked man & this guy is searching for Elys.... Ok.... This insanity paradise this girl went to in this song reminds me of people who do insane things in the name of religion...

T3 I like the flute in the beginning so continuing my thoughts about Lafrenze’s story (see a Pico Magic section for original) Lafrenze seems to have a bigger role of protecting a barrier & can’t break it... Lafrenze finds a girl & they bang.... ok....

Now it asks the relation of Lafrenze & the witch... Who’s the parent & who’s the child? Side note... Revo’s vocals are nice here & the flute is nice throughout the song

T4 Melody isn’t the best.... So this girl was afraid of being different because she didn’t want to be rejected.... I have to laugh... I was always know for being different & that still hasn’t changed... Rejection can be a pain but less people means less garbage to deal with

So this girl killed after being rejected & knowing that the girl she killed & she herself would never be able to understand each other. Now she can’t forgive herself... The masked man is here again

T5 Nice melody again. Love how it starts calm & gets a heavier sound.... So this boy found El’s portrait & fell in love.... This boy is Abyss?? The boy & the girl kill them selves... Then sinners wondering a wasteland will build a paradise... Uhhh, ok...

T6 Bagpipes... I hope Revo will play those in LH someday.... So this woman is doesn’t mind having an affair cause she could marry the guy she has an affair with... Also is Revo equating harvest to motherhood?? The masked man is here again..

T7 The intro is kinda meh.... Then the music goes into something that sounds Jojoish..... We have a greedy man who’s gonna do anything for money... Seems like karma got him in the end. The masked man is here again & he wants to get back to his daughter

T8 This song has such a nice melody.... This girl was envious of her sister & wished death upon her but took it back when the sister got a fever... The fever went down & the two become close as they grow. Then the sister gets pregnant

& is killed for being a whore... The girl never decides to never forgive those who killed her sister... The masked man & girl are here again....

T9 is nice... The masked man is Abyss... & it seems he planned these terrible fates by playing flute with that girl singing the song of death..... The parade is the tragedies & it will betray the setting sun & burn the horizon... Uh... ok... Whatever you say, Revo

T10 Stardust was my first SH song... I know the story to this. It was about Stella’s bf cheating on her with Luna. I love that this song has a heavier sound... Looks like the masked man wanted Stella in his hellhole of a parade too...

T11 It sounds like FE.... Seems all this was a dream & El is in paradise.... Elysion is heaven while Abyss is hell.... The demonic voice naming the songs... Nice......

Well that’s it for Elysion... Wasn’t as good as I remember but the tracks that I remember the most were great.... No more Aramary Since I have a day off tomorrow from school, I think I will try to do the next two singles before Roman.... I found music on YouTube

I found the translations on Defade’s old blog... So I’ll try to listen to both of those tomorrow. Maybe I’ll listen to Roman too... Idk... If not tomorrow, then Friday will be Roman day

All right it’s time for the next SH single but there’s a change of plan. I’ve been informed that Schwarzweiss doesn’t have anything to do with SH’s overall story so we will save that for another time... Before we dive into Shonen, I forgot a track from Pico Magic Reloaded

Nice violin... The music is catchy.... I feel like the story is hinting about the boy & girl in Ark or it is a Moira hint... It mentions a cruel God... Perhaps Thanatos? Maybe it’s about Abyss & that parade he made

Ok. Now we can dive into the Shonen single

T1 Very game like sounding melody... I feel like the doll mentioned in this song is a hint to the dolls in Roman... All these worlds someone is watching... Is this a hint of Roman’s plot, Hiver & the dolls traveling looking for stories?

T2 has a nice melody & I like the vocals of the new singers... The boy took his lover & ran... Then he apologizes for running away & makes a promise not to run next time & tells his lover that he wants to wither by their side

T3 Nice melody.... I feel like this song has a Moira hint in it... Boy taking up his sword.... Black sword..... Elef... Shingeki....

That was a fun single & I liked the new voices & Ike’s narration. Later tonight we listen to Roman

It’s Roman time

I actually never saw the live or listened to the full album on my original attempt to get into SH so... This is the newest album in full to me though I’ve heard bits & pieces of it as well as the intro song so this is the last

Newest SH content for me until we get to some Marchen songs I think(?) I know I was only able to watch a bit of the live on YT but not the full cause region locks. Idk if I ended up finding all the missing track on YT & listened to them in full or not...

T1 nice melody.. Ok... we have the intro to Hiver, Hortense, Violet & it tells us that this a story of Hiver, who died before he was born.... there was a funeral & there are many characters are named.. Laurencin, Christopher, Loraine, & Savant.... Also there is a liar??

T2 Nice intro choir.... This story appears to be about the dead leaving the world to their loved ones who live.... Hiver’s mother also place the twin dolls with Hiver in his coffin

T3 the intro to this is kinda meh... Who is the assilent & who is the sufferer? GnY vibes So this is about Hiver’s parents & their friends? Now they have to find the reaper & bury him? A man named Laurant is also drunk & passed out. Lots going on in this song

T4 So now we have this Slaughter queen... Michele, right? She’s not allowed to escape her cage.... A man digs himself into hell... The we’re introduced to Hiver’s sister, Noelle & she doesn’t want to marry... There’s also a lot about a cursed gem... I think it’s Michele’s?

T5 is about these sisters & daily life for them... The older sister has to help take care of the younger sister cause their father only has one arm... it seems the family dog gave birth to a puppy...

T6 It’s a song from the last single. See the Shonen section of the thread for thoughts on that song

T7 Intro gives me some Elysion vibes.... So this guy builds an angel sculpture in the image of his child... Then it mentions the man’s last struggle of hating the shine of his mother’s light.... I hear a bit of Caldisla in this song

T8 It seems this lady is enjoying all the beautiful things around her... She remembers becoming a big sister & being proud of it... I guess this melody is in remembrance of Hiver?

T9 Is that Carla’s theme I hear a bit of there or am I imagining things? It seems like this woman is married to a politician. Poor choice for hubby lady...Now a daughter is supposed to married for show? Now the kids are sleeping dreaming things...

T10 This young girl is nervous & Savant wants to help her. What a guy! The lyrics mention the revolving History involving death or loss... Elysion reference... Paradise & Hell... Ah Savant manages to help the lady & tells her to aim for her own horizon...

T11 A dying mother’s message to her baby boy... I can definitely hear Carla’s theme here... Love the Kiseki nostalgia...

Well that was Roman... I’m not sure if I get the full story & what not... I’m probably gonna make people mad... But Roman is an ok album... I think I like Elysion better... Nest we have Seishun... This thread is probably going to get SnK heavy now especially with

Alright it’s time to continue this thread... But before we get to Iberia, let’s tack on some Roman bonus tracks since a friend gave them to me. Shout out to @jtalynx for bonus tracks

BT1 Nice calm melody... Michele killed people again.... Nothing new.... I’m guessing the girl on the canvas is El, right? It seems there are still stories to be found beyond Roman & the liar still hasn’t been found?

Bt2 Since this is a remix of Asa to yoru no Roman, I won’t be talking about the story here. See the Roman section for thoughts on that. Nice music box... is that Michele laughing???

Bt3 is a live bonus track... Girl lucky getting a hug from Revo. I’m guessing this is where Hiver wasn’t born & his ghost wants comfort her & say goodbye.... I will say it’s kinda hard to pay attention to the subs with stuff happening on stage

For this reason I kinda don’t like bonus tracks live...

Side note... Revo’s sad singing did tug at my heartstrings a little... Is this what it feels like to cry at fictional characters? I never cry at fiction though certain character deaths have made me angry in the past... I’m looking at you, Hajime Isayama

Before anyone asks, no I did not cry. Anyway, time for Iberia. If you are a person who does not like AoT spoilers, do not read past this tweet cause you WILL be spoiled. Ok Here we go

T1 wow the narration in this reminds me of Armin but that’s not his VA... Historical war... similar to Eldia & Marley... Like AoT, this story addresses the never ending cycle of hate... Layla being influenced by Shaytan like Ymir influences Eren? Also is sixth

Goddess, Destiny, a Moira hint? Like Eren, Layla wishes to end the cycle of hate but what’s she gonna do to end it & how will Shaytan influence her?

The cursed jewel in Roman, is this connected to Shaytan?? There’s also similarities between Layla’s interactions with Shaytan as Eren’s interactions with Ymir Fritz.. Shaytan promises to to drive away all that pains Layla...

Because he was freed by her, right? It’s like in the above manga panels. Eren frees Ymir but ends up getting enslaved himself. What will Layla do? It also mentions windmills & observer characters... Hiver???

This is all t 2 thoughts..... Forgot to put t2

T3 it seems like it gives a History lesson & Layla kill no one unlike Eren who killed many.... Layla I think comes to understand that war is bad & won’t kill anyone... She seems to realize that evil is in the world & that it is the true enemy, right?

I wonder how AoT will end after listening to this... I’m curious... Anyway, that’s Iberia.... Fun seeing similarities between it & AoT... Next is Moira. That too will be AoT heavy so do not continue reading if you dislike spoilers

@GurenTheLaurant I now know how AoT & Iberia are similar. Be interesting to see what Revo & Isayama do for s4/last bit of the manga especially after listening to this
